JAFZA Business setup License Types

Trading License:
A JAFZA Trading License allows the holder to import, export, distribute and store items specified on the license. In addition to this, there is a JAFZA General Trading License which allows the holder access to a wider range of activities and a broader range of items on the license.

Industrial License:
A JAFZA Industrial License allows the holder to import raw materials, carry out the manufacture of specified products and export the finished product. In addition, there is also the National Industrial License, issued for manufacturing companies with at least 51% Arabian Gulf Co-operation Council (AGCC) ownership. This license allows the holder the same status as a local or AGCC inside the UAE.

Service License:
A JAZFA Service License allows the holder to carry out the services specified on the license within the JAFZA. A JAFZA Logistics License allows firms to engage in logistic services such as Cargo (sea, land, air), warehousing, storage, packing, transshipment, and distribution.

E-Commerce License:
to carry out buying and selling of goods and services over electronic networks via any electronic means.

National Industrial License:
to carry out manufacturing activities where at least 51% of the ownership is of national(s) of an AGCC country.

Innovation License:
To carry out the development of new products and services.

Offshore Registration:
To establish an offshore company with limited liability.

JAFZA Business setup License Costs

The company set up in Jebel Ali Free Zone is quite reasonable compared to the other Free Zones.

Jebel Ali free zone company registration starts from:

10,000 AED fee for the registration
5,500 AED license of type 1 (7 categories of products)
9,000 AED license of type 2 (12 categories of products)

It is a mandatory requirement to have an office space in this Free Zone. One of the smallest offices is 26.88 sqm, with an annual rent of 53,670 AED.

The total company setup in JAFZA without resident visas will cost about 86,935 AED. Apart from the above-mentioned costs, it includes name approval fees, attestation of documents costs and establishment card as well.

JAFZA Business BUSINESS License RENEWAL Costs

In order to do company renewal, you need to pay:

License fees
Office (facility) fees
Establishment card costs
Renewal of Jebel Ali free zone license costs the same as JAFZA company registration.

The company renewal can be done without visiting the Jebel Ali free zone.
You need to provide your company’s audit report at the time of company renewal. An audit can be done through any UAE-licensed and accredited auditing company.
The license can be renewed for three years for companies having a plot of land and sublease facilities.

CORPORATE AMENDMENTS

Most of the amendments of your JAFZA company can be processed without a personal visit to the free zone.
Such amendments include:

Change of name (personal and corporate)
Business activity
Change of manager/director, etc

For the share transfer procedure, you will be required to visit the free zone. Otherwise, it can be done by a person, holding a notarized Power of Attorney.
